London 1921, from the wreckage of the Great War rises one Bertie Gunn, a young gentleman detective. From a stolen diamond to a missing painting he’s making a name for himself amongst London’s upper sets. But Bertie is a liar – he’s not a well-off gent and actually lives in a shabby bedsit in Camden. While ambition may not be a crime, murder certainly is as Bertie finds himself solving his biggest mystery yet…

The Lies & Fall of Bertie Gunn is a murder mystery comedy – think The Mousetrap meets Knives Out. The show is suitable for ages 8+ and has been written to appeal to broad audiences. A rehearsed reading was performed at the Pleasance theatre on Friday 21st February after a four day R&D period. The reading was directed by Ollie Norton-Smith and starred Louise Beresford, Alex Britt, Charlotte Dowding, Alexander Holley and Nkhanise Phiri.
